Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her debut EP Pho, released was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released by Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. Sweat It is part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time was interested in having her perform on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. It was announced on December 8 that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was the result of her participation to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, she dropped her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed in her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening artist. In 2018, she performed as a guest on two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. The music video then released in September. Then on November 9 the singer released two new singles, 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two additional singles were also released by her on November 13 Pedigree and No One. She was featured with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16, and then released the song in a solo version to the album she released her debut. On February 20, 2019, a music clip was released to promote the song. It has already received more than 3 million hits on YouTube within its first week. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December the year 2018.
